Gunnamayhem

Post by DougieK » Sun May 21, 2017 12:33 pm

The gun ignited for myself, ads and carl this morning.

About 45 minutes of absolute madness, had horse sized salmon taking surface lures, dunno how many we landed but it was alot, kept a few for once as well.

After the mayhem died down we watched enormous fish jumping 300-400 out for about an hour before the victory march back to the car.

Best part of the trip, as always, was the walk back past the baito's who'd all donutted fishing at the bottom of the stairs.

Lures were busted 75's, 2 ounce richters. I'm literally fishing with 3 lures and a pair of pliers in my pocket and no other gear, carl had a little manbag and ads a small backpack. Less than 1kg of gear all together.

PB for myself at 64cm and 2.988kg and adam with a VIC pb breaking the magic 3kg mark (digital scale weights not facebook weights).

Get on it.

Nice one - one of the rare days when a visit to Gunna is actually worth it! :-)

The big sambos are around alright. The rocks at Phillip Island are also fishing well had a few over 60cm last week.

Woolie surf beach is a bit hit and miss at the moment.

Mike.

Having only fished the surf some 40 years ago, with surf rods & bait.
Your rods don't appear to be surf rods, what do you need, for that type of fishing???
A friend (local copper) lives at Gunna, might have to go and see him.

Thanks
