been itching to head down to gunners again soon but unfortunately whilst spinning down on the 90 mile the top half of my Surf spin rod got ripped off the bottom half by a dodgy wind knot and just with my luck the lure had snapped off causing the top half of the rod to just float away in the surf.... p

Lol...yeah, was a ripper night mate..screaming drags, bent rods, laughs all round, ( Oatsy sitting on the sand with his rod between his knees trying to drag his last fish of the night up the beach was funny as). Some big fish on offer at the minute, real bruisers, you picked a good night for ya first experience of surf salmon..was good to see how quick you got the hang of landing them, not the easiet thing with a bit of swell running..

She was a strange one Drew..as I came around the bend to the second carpark, there was nothing showing at cape schanck, but she was pumping once we got down on the sand..1.2 or 1.3, just no surgace chop because of the nor easter blowing pretty hard all day..around high tide as well, so makes it that little bit harder..
