The Cape quiet but portsea ignited!

Post by DougieK » Wed Aug 27, 2014 5:00 pm

Lady K and I headed down to Cape Schanck for the dawn session this morning, found some beautiful rolling clouds, low swell and an awesome sunrise but no fish. Had breakfast / lunch and kicked around sorrento and portsea for a while before heading down to Portsea back beach at 11.30ish. Cara grabbed my trusty Catana and took off down the beach before I could object so I was left to rig up the big Nitro. Ended up casting 65g Raiders halfway between the Surf Club and London Bridge, hit a big school of salmon, largest was ofcourse Cara's at 55cm.

Dog said they were delicious.

Eyeing the ledge at London Bridge, another at Sorrento Back Beach and a third trip to bushrangers bay Fri/Sat/Sun mornings if the weather stays good for us.

Come back with my Catana woman!

55cm approx 2kg of pure power.

Couple more not quite as big as Cara's

Salmon are bad eating?! Nope!

Oh god that's the worst feeling when you rip the first cast of the day and feel the line go into your finger.
