It takes quite a lot of time to edit something like this. This one taking about 4 hours in total to edit...

I've taken the first steps to improvement already. Respooled both reels with 60lb mono and 120lb topshot. Now I just need the Tiagra

I didn't edit it in 1080p (full hd) because it would have taken even longer to finish editing it.
Still Looks ok though.

And i hope you spooled with some nice line loll..

I guess it's a lesson learned. When you're out there - you just don't know what you're going to hook up to. I run 80lb braid on two large egg beaters - Okuma Salina 2 16000, and also 130lb braid on 4 Okuma TG 50' s in 2 speed just in case....i'm yet to be tested...

how do you find fighting tuna on the spinners, i got myself a daiwa BG6500 for this purpose cause i cant use a overhead very well, sticking to what i know best

Anyone know if a Tyrnos is any good? That or a Squall 50VSW 2 speed might be the budget solution if a decent S/H Tiagra doesn't eventuate

Absolutely love it. I prefer to hook up on the tuna with the Salinas. Drag is set quite high for an easy hook up. They'll peal line off and then you crank it up. I use 25kg jigging rods. The Salina 16000s take about 300-400 metres of 80lb braid line giving the fish plenty of line to take. You chase them with your boat if they take too much line off. The rods I have slot well into the gimble but not being an overhead you cannot clip the reel in for hands free support. We've also caught sharks this way. Your holding arm gets sore from holding the rod. The jigging rod has a gap at the base from the gimble support to were the reel is attached. I fill this bit with tape and cover it with tennis racket grip tape. You can get a boat rod but a high power jigging rod feels much nicer. Yet to test it on a massive barrel though. My Okuma reels can handle 23kg of drag.
