appreciate all the feedback guys, you can never stop learning as the saying goes.
rb85.
yes, lures are in, those rods that are in the holders are the stickbait rods
no outriggers
no idea about gimbles and such, i fought my last schoolie without a gimble and my groin was fubared.
re-position. already posted a reply to that but looking to improve for sure.
no criticism mate, feedback is feedback. as i said alredy im a rookie at all this, im used to 4 and 6lb line, not 100lb line hahahaha.

At the start when the fish runs yes chase it, then at the end when the fish is close to the boat you drive away to plane the fish up.ChrisAbout wrote:Hey guys, thanks for the feedback Re: planing the fish. I'm no expert myself, but I figured as the fish was taking runs away from the boat and my line was too weak and my reel had only 300m of spool on it, that I should try and get as close to the fish rather than away from it.
I will take your advice onboard and try that next time though. If that will land me the fish, then its good advice
Yes, the gimbal is crap. As I had lent my Black Magic harness to a mate who now "Can't find it", that PENN was what we could quickly buy from Portland Bait and Tackle that morning. However, I will not go out again without my Black Magic harness.
No outriggers.
Cheers
Black Magic Harness is great shame you cant get it back.
PS worth investing in more line capacity either with bigger reels or braid backing with mono top shot.

Also get rid of the rod holders mounted to the side pocket.
When you fight the fish try to always have one foot locked in under the side pocket.

As they say, that's why its called fishing mate !
You all did a great job, some finer points have been aired,,, but, many don't even get to hang on to a barrel for as long as you did.....
Experience is something earned, on the water, over time, unfortunately sometimes with lost fish
congrats on your day.
A great video and was yelling for you all the way's guys........
