I haven't had much luck on them in the bay, I've tried them many times don't seem to have much luck on them unless I put a tinny but if bait on the tips. I've caught heaps of bait fish in the bay but with just small baited bait fish hooks. Love to bring up a sabaki rig full of bait fish.

HAHAHAHAHA

At Urangan Jetty at Hervey Bay in QLD it's literally 2-3 fish per cast. pike, herring, even tailor. All sorts of stuff just jumps on them.
I've followed the urangan jetty rod hire page on Facebook... God damn I want to fish that pier
yeah it's awesome. I've been fishing it for 25 years. My late uncle taught me a lot up there.

That guy who runs that page is a bit odd though. He kept 44 squid the other night. I don't get it.

Ive noticed that too. He also seems to get very excited about what to me would be rubbish fish, then not even mention other fish in the pic that almost look like trophy fish. I just figured being a different part of the country they had different targets, but now Im not sure.

There is no bag limit for squid in QLD, but that doesn't mean you have to keep every single one you ever catch.

I actually unfollowed him when he killed a shovelnose a while back.

I guess that's ok if you can actually use 75 squid, but if he's just doing it for the photo and to bignote himself he's a *******.

That jetty is 800m long. On a nice day on the weekend there are easily 100 people fishing it. If everyone takes 75 squid that's 7500 in a single day. Stupidity at it's finest.

Just a thought, but if he's at the rod hire place maybe he's selling them?
Cast, catch and put it back
