Parker Hill
I'm going camping at Parker Hill soon and wouldn't mind any info anyone can share with me on fishing around there. :fish22:
I don't know the area at all. I read something on another post briefly about parker inlet.
I have a 12 ft rod i borrowed from a friend and also an 8' and 7' rod. I'll be fishing with a couple of friends, none of us are very knowledgeable...
Usually i like to chuck in some bait and sit around with it, but this time i'd like to try some bait on the big rod and maybe fling a lure around with one of the smaller rods. And actually catching something for once would be a big bonus!...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Re: Parker Hill
I googled it and it seems to be somewhere in the Otways? Is that the right spot?

Re: Parker Hill
great spot! was down there over new years staying near cape otway lighthouse.
as you go down the steps keep going across the bay and onto the rocks.
be careful though you need pretty good conditions or it can be dangerous to get to where I circled. wear boots or runners not thongs on the rocks because they are super slippery!
managed 1 nice 40cm whiting. caught on a squid head, paternoster rig with a big star sinker with my 10 foot surf/rock rod casting straight out as far as possible :dinner:

We had a great discussion in that thread, if you look up the right section of the forum it will still be there.

Re: Parker Hill
If you go on the camp side of the rocks there is a spot in between the reef that is full of wrasse but I did pull a 44cm whiting out of it as well. The swell is sig officiant around there as previously mentioned. You can get abs if you have some goggles too.
