26/2 @ sheepwash road and the bridge

Post by DougieK » Tue Feb 26, 2013 3:26 pm

Nothing but baby australian salmon today at sheepwash, and nothing at all at the bridge.

Heading back down this evening at low tide.

Weather is crap for there at the moment dude, that Barwon is going to be chocolate, the only love you will get is mullet to be honest.

2 hrs before high, maybe a little closer to the entrance, look for clean water meeting the dirt and soem fish will be in that.

Picked up a couple of slightly better salmon 27/2 at high tide just as the clean water was coming in.

Getting frustrated trying to get a fish over 25 cm on soft plastics.

Still, something is better than nothing.

Hey Dougie, which bridge are you mostly going off??
Fished the ozone jetty a couple of weeks ago, got 3, 35 cm kg whiting, surprised we even got them as the weather conditions were terrrible.
Trevs are in and out but managed to pick up a decent one.
Mullets have not stopped.
havent got a sambo over the 20cm marks there.

Might head down tomorrow morning and fish towards the mouth.

Hey mate, I'm not fishing off a bridge, i'm fishing the bank upstream of the bridge on the OG side. There is a big sand bank with a shallow gutter you can walk accross comfortably. fishing the drop off onthe other side at low tide and the gutter where the crab colony is at high tide.

When i do sheepwash i drive to the end of river terrace then walk to the first corner a long the bank.

Haven't been down for a couple of weeks, might head down in the next few days.
