yer mate not really any good flathead in the river. you wanna fish the dropoffs and the sand banks on the ocean grove boat ramp side, fish off the beach you can get flatties but its rare to get any size to them. I would use squid or pillies or chicken or even some turtleback worms which are plastics. fish low tide.

Wow i must have been lucky to catch one then breamster! I caught it at the golfcourse jetty on a peice of trevally for bait and its the only size flathead i have seen caught in the river! And Martyjohnson I will try the turtle back worms around the drop offs when the water gets slightly warmer. Bremster, do you ever catch bream in the river?

Right now it's bream & luderick. Usually go after trevally & salmon in the winter months.Jaka474 wrote:Wow i must have been lucky to catch one then breamster! Bremster, do you ever catch bream in the river?
