Lorne 28/03/15

Post by Darkpassenger23 » Sat Mar 28, 2015 7:56 pm

First time rock fishing and what a nightmare it was. So much to learn. I fished off the rocks 10km past Lorne. I hooked 20+ decent size fish only to lose them when they dive under the rocks. I had no idea what rock was best to fish from, after hours of frustration I asked some locals. I ended up fishing with them and caught 4 Mullet before I left for the day.

They filled buckets of Mullet and some big Salmon

Good gummy bait
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

It is frustrating when you hooked up a wrasse and it manages to squeeze itself into a rock hole... to avoid this, cast into sand bottom gutters rather than close to rocks, that's what i usually do.

Fished off the Rocks again today and Mullet were on the bite again. I caught 20 Mullet (16 for eating 4 small ones for bait) and 1 Tailor.

Only fished 2.5 hours and caught the limit so I went home as nothing but Mullet were coming up.
