Fishing at Point Impossible at Breamlea Beach

Post by Johnk » Wed Dec 05, 2012 11:25 am

I visited this area last Thursday in the afternoon and there were Wrasse's on the bite everywhere! Was using squid as bait with size 8 hooks cast with a 12' rod.

I would like to visit this are again for an evening and early morning surf fishing session, ideally targetting whitting and salmon.

I found the area very scenic and easy to get to and having not been fishing since I was a kid this was my first surf fishing experience which even with a cheap rig from Kmart it was highly effective.

Is anyone familiar with this fishing area and what works best? which parts of Point Impossible are most productive and for which fish?

Try Black Rock after dark for snappers. Heard very good reports from there.

Point Imposs is very scenic the scenery changes drastically though on decent warmer days. It's a very VERY popular nude beach.

Further along the coastline to the east is the mouth of Thompson creek which often fishes well. Then you can fish the creek to.
