catching them was fun. Disposing them was the hard part. I had to tie them up and drag them to the nearest bin 200 meters away on the opposite side of the creek.

sorry Carl, they are all dead now. We kill them here, not release them the way you do in UK. :-)

Never, ever fished for the wretched things....pleased they get rid of them here...should never have been introduced, bloody lunacy..

Forgot to tell you, this morning, while bringing the squid jig back in, a small flathead came up and hit the lure on the surface, think it was just to rub in what a bloody duff fisho I am...lol....

i once caught a 40cm flatty on squid jig. the flatty swallowed the whole jig and I have to gut it to retrieve my jig. I also had a big gunnard on jig once. An old man gutted the gunnard to get my jig, he kept the fish. Hooked a salmon on jig once but dropped it on the way up the pier. Try using squid jig in the surf, it will work

back to carp, can I use spear gun to clean up the creek nearby? The creek passes in the middle of a council park.

not with my dog around. smh

I saw a dog rolling on dead rotting carp last time and the owner was cursing the dog afterwards. Lucky I was not fishing that time so there was no one around to blame. For the record, the rotting carp was not my catch.

At least 2, possibly 3 generations there! The population really has exploded over the last 2 or 3 years.
