like I say photos really add to a fish story, infact they clarify the truth

5 percent of fisherman catch 95 percent of the fish...the other 95 percent just post up with no photo.

off course if you produce pictures for a few posts then you gain so trust so after that a while the general internet population understand s that you can fish

It took a couple of days but I finally heard back from DEPI. The regs apply to all Victorian waters including farm dams. However there is one exception - a Rec Fishing License is not required for private farm dams. Rules regarding prohibited bait can be found on the link.

Heading back to where I caught my 37cm reddie this afternoon. Hoping to catch a few. Might try and catch a few yabbies as well and then try fishing with a few. Have never used yabbies as a bait but they sound a popular choice. Will give it a go I reckon. With mobile phones being what they are today, there is almost no excuse for not having a picture of your catch. This said there is lots of good reasons as to why people may drop their phone, wallet, keys and or sunglasses in the drink. That has happened to me before...

Good luck MrI-fish! Hope you get a chance at cracking that 40cm barrier :)
Yabbies do work very well. The other advantage is that you don't get bugged by carp, roach, tench, etc. Try to take 2 outfits with you. Bait 1 up with a yab, and punch a few lures around with the other. That way you get the best of both worlds.

Cheers :)

Not a great outing and a fairly short one as well. The daughter was having a good old winge about the heat and that meant only a short flick before we had to give it away. Not even a touch. Used to be a fish every two or three casts. Disappointing. The water is up much higher at the moment so that could be the reason. Next time going to catch and try yabbies for sure.
