hey guys when using nymphs in streams what's an appropriate retrieve?

does anyone know where i can find Jensen Insect spinners?

I don't think the actual Jensen Insects are made anymore but there are some knock-offs around coming out of China. Can't remember where I've seen them but will rack this worn out brain for you

Unfortunately they are not made anymore! Norstream make a replica (Insect Spinner) - I have used it and it certainly works on trout. It does seem to twist the line also, more than other spinners do. They are stocked in Tackleworld here so may be standard in all Tackleworld stores.

If you run keels in front of them you won't get any line twist. You can get clear plastic ones and also lead ones that will allow your spinners to run deeper

I have the tried the plastic keels - I don't like them. I use spinners without the keels and just deal with the twist. Occasionally letting the line run in flowing water with no lure on helps. Also when I get back home, I secure the line to a good quality ball bearing swivel and put the line under tension. This removes the twist - until the next time!

Edit: If using some types of spinners for Redfin, I do use the keels.

Each to there own. They'll catch the wind if casting but brilliant when trolling spinners

Out of curiosity, i thought trout season was in Winter ? Don't the trout shut down or move to deeper waters in the Summer time ? Please enlighten me. I have only really targeted them in lakes etc.

$14.99 at my local. I'd say some others would be around the $12-13 mark. Only 2.2gm but they did the job

Nice fish, would you mind sharing the location or is that under wraps?

I have the view that if members wanted to share the location, it would be in the first post! But then I may be proved wrong!!!
