Re: lures for trout
I got sent some a while back to test and sent them back to the bin very quicklyRod Bender wrote:I tried them soon after I lost my last Jensen Insect spinner! The place I was using them had reasonable to strong flow from memory if that matters. I certainly caught trout on them, perhaps at the time the trout were hitting everything. What I do remember is they seemed to twist the line a lot more than other spinners so I gave up using them.Dilksy wrote:Rod Bender wrote:Unfortunately they are not made anymore! Norstream make a replica (Insect Spinner) - I have used it and it certainly works on trout. It does seem to twist the line also, more than other spinners do. They are stocked in Tackleworld here so may be standard in all Tackleworld stores.Dilksy wrote:does anyone know where i can find Jensen Insect spinners?
thanks

Cornacarpio wrote:Gillies had a hopper spinner back in the day which used to work a treat (better than Jensen insects IMO, although the design was basically the same).
Also hard to go past Ecogear SX40s. Yes they are a Bream lure, but work wonders on the Trout as well.
I thought those Gillies spinners were worse than the Norstreams..
I think most guys would agree the Jensen Insects are one of the best spinners IMO

Last week I accidentally hooked two rainbow very decent size at lake Dewar.cheaterparts wrote:I'm not much of a fresh water fisho but I also have caught both trout and red fin on these tsunami lures in both rainbow and brown trout coloursTravis wrote:trout lures you can buy from k-mart pretty cheap called tsunami super trout in rainbow pattern that are good value for money
also have used halco scorpion 35s in golden green ( R26 ) to some success these look like a small reddy
again have caught me both trout and red fin

Re: lures for trout
I tie every time. I think the trout will see the snap swivel 4x4 fisho. I reckon it effects the way the spinners spin as well
