So have we determined a list of the top 10?

I'll put in two spots- Yarra River and Plenty River. I've never donutted on the plenty and on the yarra. If I've donutted (only once or twice) I've at least seen a fish feeding.

So i've caught carp before just by accident, but i was wondering if someone could help me with catching carp i can see floating around the surface. Went down to the local Plenty river the other day and spotted about 40 carp in a 100 metre section of river.
I was using bread on an unweighted hook and everytime i'd cast the bread near the fish they would just disperse. I was well hidden the fish wouldnt have been able to see me, but the hook and bait hitting the water was enough to spook them.

Any advice on how i can pull these buggers out of the river will be much appreciated. The only thing more frustrating than not catching fish is seeing fish and not being able to catch them.

If you see them tearing up the banks lob some worms or whatever a couple of foot in front of them, always worked for me in the Plenty.

What kind of setup would you reccomend?

I used to use a running sinker, but unweighted would probably work better again.

Simple- fish weren't feeding, that's why they were spooky, possibly sun baking. If you do see one 'tailing' stiring up the bottom and obviously feeding, then cast to those fish. Unweighted piece of bread is fine

Just Pop a couple of trebles and rip it through the water real quick, thats what they used to do at melton weir, worked a treat.
