Top 10 Carp fishing spots round Melbourne
Re: Top 10 Carp fishing spots round Melbourne
may or may not have went down there tonight for a 'stroll'
i definitely didnt see any signs saying $250 fine
saw a private security guard in the carpark so didnt stay too long and wasnt able to catch anything
man there are a lot of fish in there though and some real thumpers, threw some bread out and they were surfacing all the time
what size hooks and rigs do you guys use? ive never targeted carp before so had no idea lol

Re: Top 10 Carp fishing spots round Melbourne
Is this some sort of a test to see if I'm a snitch?
The forum member didn't really hide the fact he was fishing at 'lakeside drive' as evidenced by this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8291" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And from what I can gather, no, he didn't cop a fine either...

I kept my end of the bargain...shazdoggg wrote:If you 'give up' the forum member who fished it during daylight hours(interested if they copped a fine) I'l give you the time's you can fish there to avoid(reduce) detection by security patrol...
Time for you to tell me appropriate fishing times, hours of security patrol, escape routes, code name, etc...

Careful! shaz just might be that security guard, :lol: cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

The last few times Ive fished there has been after 12am and left before sunrise. Ive never had a problem with security at these times. Most of the time they wont even know youre there unless your flashing your torch or carrying on like a pork chop. I havent fished there for a few years now so the security issue might have changed in that time?Cornacarpio wrote:I kept my end of the bargain...shazdoggg wrote:If you 'give up' the forum member who fished it during daylight hours(interested if they copped a fine) I'l give you the time's you can fish there to avoid(reduce) detection by security patrol...

Not quite Melbourne, but Hazelwood pondage is full of good sized carp. Fish off the pier with corn and you’ll usually get some.

Kalparrin gardens in greensborough used to be good before they drained it late last year. had lots of 4-5 kg carp and a few 10kg plus. haven't fished it in a while because it looks like they've blocked out the river flowing into the lake. im sure the carp will find a way in tho.
