The small lakes have no trout, but have carp and redfin. The large lake is the one DPI stocks with trout.Master-pro wrote:The big lake, the big one i saw get caught was in the big lake where the drains things are!bigwatkins wrote:thanks mate, ive had a look on google maps and there is three lakes??? do you fish the big one?? or cogley lake??

Hallam/Dandenong creek is 'chockers' full of carp, golden carp (even houshold looking goldfish too!), eels and turtles. Mainly from the bridge in NarreWarren to the bridge in Hallam, there is a walking path that runs along the creek from bridge to bridge ( a few km in lenght ).
From Hallam bridge onwards towards Dandenong, anywhere past the bridge on south gippy hwy the fish become more scarce.
'Sweet corn' kernels allways being a top bait for the carp around this area.
Cheers , Rick.

Re: Top 10 Carp fishing spots round Melbourne
yes. The creek is open for business.
Park beside the bowling club, walk to the creek and fish anywhere. I prefer fishing the area where the swamp grass grows. There is a wider area which narrows a bit as the creek heads toward Burwood highway. I cross the creek and fish from the other side (facing the bowling club). Top carp breeding ground. See the pictures I posted here - viewtopic.php?f=16&t=334&start=80" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
