Lake Bolac

Post by gray.nomad » Sun May 22, 2011 8:14 pm

Hi,

I am all new to this and I wanted to let you all know about some great fishing in Lake Bolac, which is
about 200 km from Melbourne in the Western District on the Glenelg Highway.
People go to Tassie to catch trout, which they can catch every week here at Lake Bolac. ;)

Besides trout, red fin, eels, yellow belly can be caught. It's also a great place for all your water sports,
power boating, wind sailing, sailing, swimming. :D
10 months ago, the lake was dry and it filled up completely with the recent rains in Aug. Sep. Oct. 2010.

I had some people staying in my caravan park and in less than 5 hours fishing they caught about 12 trout, nothing less than
1 kg and up to 1.5 kg. :D:D:D
More info: google Lake Bolac :D

Regards
Frank

Hi Frank

Just wondering... If the lake has only had water in it for 10 months, how come there are trout >1kg in it? I can't see a significant river flowing into it...

Would appreciate a response before I drive several hours...

Best,
Fly Guy

It's been on a Adventure Bound a couple of times recently and I must say the trout are HUGE.
