Drift fishing on the Goulburn

I had a great day out with Goulburn Valley Flyfishing last week when I had the opportunity to do a day drift fishing down the Goulburn
I've had my own boats over the years and fished many of the lakes in Tassie but this was the best trip I've done for ages.
Landed 7 trout to 3lb and missed/dropped a further 4 fish.
I would never have been able to spot the fish without the guide.
Sounds like an advert but I've got nothing to do with the organisation
Its funny but the Goulburn reminded me of the upper reaches of Daly in the NT
Anyway,
If you get the chance get onto them and book a trip. Its not cheap but well worth it

For sure. I wouldn't have seen most of them until I was on top of them without the youngish eyeballs of the guide.
I used to take pics of every fish but dont bother these ddays. The guide took one but only on a phone

Yes all on drys. Cant remember the fly orange something?. I cast for 30 mins at one fish but not to be. Put a small dropper on but missed the strike. He spat it because i waz tooo slow. Im too used to big barra strikes where they inhale a 6" lure. After 20 years i have to relearn how to catch these little ferals again.

Yes, the subtle take and delicate or a trout on dry, the timing to strike and all. That's what makes it so rewarding.
How was the water? Still high and fast or low? Usually it's starting to drop in April.
