Lake dartmouth trout.

Post by Pethrk » Wed Apr 10, 2019 6:54 pm

Hi guys.

So I’m heading up to lake Dartmouth at the end of May with a few mates, we have 2 boats going up and are looking to do some trolling.

Couple of quick questions.

What size rod would be best to use for trolling I was thinking of using a 1-3kg rod is that way to light ?

And also what other lures should we try other than tassie devils?

Cheers

1-3kg or 2-4kg outfits are fine mate.
Winged lures such as tassies, stingers, cobras, work far too well to dismiss. Bibbed minnows are also good to have in the spread. Rapalas such as F7-F13, or XR6-XR10. Or daiwa double-clutch. And a troll speed of 3-3.5km/hr should do the trick. Good luck!
