I don't totally agree with rb85 but i don't disagree. I think it's good to have a closed season but maybe not for so long or maybe only close certain rivers and streams? It's not like there is an overpopulation of trout nor is there a small amount. Something must be working.

Victoria has had a few horror seasons in recent times where trout had all but disappeared in a lot of historically good waters. I t has had the authorities as well as anglers scratching their heads. I think if most of my local streams offered not much more than Grayling and Blackfish, I would hang the rods up.
