Hi All,
Keen to do some carp fishing, never had much luck only caught 1 with a mate. What would be the best line set up for carp fishing? Not targeting monsters but would a 6lb line and leader suffice or is it worth buying heavier gear for carping?
Cheers,
Blake

In canberra for big carp i used to use 8lb mono and a 10lb berkley vanish leader... catching 20+ a session. Light action spin gear makes it good fun.
Here is that setup in action on a decent fight from a carp.

Yeah it was years ago... but the gear remains the same I suppose. You dont need expensive stuff for carp. But they are awesome fighters on light gear.
