Years ago we kept a carp in a bath for weeks.

We changed the water everyday

It still tasted like slush.

Apart from the damage they do you cant make them taste good.

What a crock of Sh!t  There have never been any photo's on this site of mutilated carp, there are a few of dead carp but that's what we are supposed to do kill them humanely.

Well I have seen online photos of dozens of carp lined up and driven over by 4x4's.
I have seen stinking impaled carp lying in the open close to where children play.

it's disgusting and inhumane behavior exhibited by people who call themselves anglers. I suspect it's the same people who leave beer bottles, empty corn cans and worm containers behind when they go home.
People like that I have no time for.

Whenever I catch a carp and dispose of it I consider it having done our waterways a favour, they are after all a noxious species!

Agree mate. I have a soft spot for trout as I learnt so much fishing for them with a fly rod in hand accompanied by mates as a kid but I recognise that they are competing for habitat with natives and feed on smaller native species.

You are quite right . This forum is clean.

I am referring to the numerous Facebook group's that effectively "bust" carp so to speak.
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

If the virus is being developed works carp will die off.

Removing 1 carp does nothing, but removing 300,000 plus carp does.

When I use to fish for trout, dead carp, made a good supply of bait, with maggots.
