Lilydale Lake - a nice trout

Post by ChrisD » Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:59 pm

Headed to Lilydale lake today and wet a few Tassies devils. after about 2 hours finally a strike, and a good one at that.
Nearly lost it right at the bank, line broke, luckily I was able to grab hold beforee it swam off.....really wanted my Tassie devil back, lol.
Will certianly be heading back, armed with Tassie Devils and hoping to see more trout. :water:

Thanks, lake is back to capacity and has been restocked. Although I suspect that a few of the old fish managed to make it through the draining.
Hope to see more fish caught as the weather picks up. With daylight savings starting next week, will be getting a few more trips there after work in the coming weeks.

Yes this one was at the rock wall, near the over flow. We saw some others round the other side near the boat ramp, but couldn't land them. They were also smaller. I believe the lake was restocked back in August and then again just before the school holidays, several hundred fish all told, all trout as far as I am aware.

no aerial jumps of this one, just a good strong fight below water. Only have 4lb line on that rod so had to take it nice and slow.
