Redfin On The Chew

Post by Whiskers » Thu Apr 21, 2016 1:54 pm

Just back from a morning at a local lake. plenty of redfin on the chew, all taken on a white and red paddletail soft plastic.

Nothing huge but good fun on light gear.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

It took a while to find an SP they were interested in. Tried quite a few different colours before I tried the white one.

The lake was very weedy and I used the SP on a weedless set up and just a long shank hook, no jig head, no weight. Most of the takes came when the lure was stopped after a short retrieve and sinking slowly back down.

Little ones been going ok in the local lake. At times its a fish a cast, great for the kids. Even better are the couple of 28 cm fish that pop up as well :)
