Dandenongs trout

Post by Blue vlt » Tue Feb 16, 2016 4:13 pm

Hey guys,

Can anyone help me with some locations to chase a few trout in the dandenongs/emerald? Looking mainly In streams. Just looking for somewhere to kill some time when I finish work early. I am a catch and release fisherman feel free to pm me if you don't want to make public.

Thanks Brendan

You can always try getting a copy of this book it lists at least 15 spots within your area though it seems the trout are small avg 350 grams.
I noticed that most of the better spots were located around the Bunyip area.Diamond Creek, Ararat Creek and Bunyip Creek.
The closest to you seems to be Cardinia creek that has small browns and rainbow trout. Hope this helps or maybe some other members have first hand knowledge of the area. ;-)

That really is a great book!! Invaluable!
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Woori Yallock Creek holds trout and blackfish, good little stream to fly-fish as well. Basically anywhere you can access the creek and start wading.

Good luck.
