Don't give up hope boyzz. They have stocked trout, silvers & yella's into the shepp lake and they're still alive in there :o_0:

Redfin have also reportedly migrated to there from the local channels, as well as a few cod from the nearby goulburn river after some kind locals put some habitat (shopping trolley's) in there for them to live in.

Carp are few and far between.

I might have to dust off the rods for one last time at TNA!!!

Can't say I'm overly disappointed though...better there be no Carp than Carp in the noxious aquarium.

However, I feel the 'no-Carp' situation wont be for long - even if they completely drain it. I've met too many melbourne-based 'Carp aficionados' at TNA from a certain country in Western Europe that feel translocating Carp is perfectly acceptable. It's only a matter of time before they are back in there in their millions.

Oh, and I am so curious to see how big the Colonel actually is. My guess: 125cm!

Doesn't take long i mean places like Albert Park were drained and all the carp removed but they came back pretty fast.

I can't see anything but carp and small reddies living in there anyhow.

Dear Mr Walker,

Thank you for your email and advice regarding “The Colonel”.

While council collected many large carp, the Colonel (a carp of the dimensions you speak), was not among them.

He may have managed to escape into the night, when he sensed councils unwanted attention, who knows?

The legend continues?

Regards
