Re: Tullaroop Res.
Mazman may be referring to the worn (rounded) tail fin on the first pic...possibly a sign of a hatchery fish. I would wait for Redhunter's opinion, guessing he will have a good idea! Great effort also!hornet wrote:Hatchery fish are usually fin clipped ain't they ? those fins look intact ?mazman wrote:Great fish.First one definitely looks ex hatchery but the second looks more wild but probably just stocked as a fryhornet wrote:Good Stonkers ! ... are they ex-hatchery fish or wild ?
cheers

Tullaroop is a reservoir, only stocked fish in there so unless someone else has stocked it they are all stocked fish

Re: Tullaroop Res.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. They were in great nic, and both fought well, leaping out of the water several times.
Like Fishsniper said, all the trout in this lake are stocked fish, put in as fingerlings or yearlings, the same as many of our impoundments. Both browns were in fact fin-clipped.

Isn't that the way, you go fishing with your mate same bait same rigs and one catches the fish is it luck ? But either way 2 quality browns yet again redhunter impressive

Re: Tullaroop Res.
Thx for clearing it up redhunter, it was hard to tell if they were clipped or not in the pics, they are in fantastic condition so I assume there's plenty of food in the lake, it's good to see a lake giving results like this !Redhunter wrote:Thanks for the kind words everyone. Re: Tullaroop Res.
Should have been clearer, the first fish looks like it was stocked later than the first fish, the rubbed fins are the reason for this thinking.
