Full moon or New moon ?

The few days leading up to the full moon is best for lake trout imo. Haven't done any good during new moon periods in the past.

Is that the case for bait and artificial Redhunter ?

Yes mate. I tend to use lures of a day, and bait under a float after dark.

I don,t fish at night these days but we generally avoid fishing lakes during the days after full moon or near to. The theory is that fish will feed all night with a high moon and not be so keen next day.
Therefore would think that actually fishing the full moon would be ideal.

With trout ive noticed no differance

Cod at night on full moon I have had some luck with, esp with surface lures

I fish fresh water. so full moon for me.

Is that all freshwater situations ?
Do you not find there spooked a little by the full moon ?

I have found that the cod are active on the full moon.

as for spooking them. some days you have to wake them up.

When the "big" speed boats some out to play on the Murray then the Cod are often active.

Full monn for freshwater for me, but it also depends when the moon rises and sets, I found a full moon seeting just after dark to be good
