Yep mate, I appreciate it. I just hadn't even considered the feel of the rod when thinking about reel size, thought it more had to do with stream you were fishing. Anyway swapped it for the 2500, glad I did the rod feels nice to me and I can imagine the 1000 being too lite. Plus now I have a more verstile rod to get into some other fishing when trout season closes.

Went to noojee with weekend but no luck, fist weekend properly fishing hard bodies and think I have a bit more to learn.
