Misheen wrote:Cool cart hornet, but why don't you use the rod holders on your cart to fish from instead of laying them on the pier? I always cringe when I see people's rods laying on the pier, one minute they are there then next swoosh gone.

It's hard to see but my rods are not on the ground I have converted a bunnings 3 flood light stand with a cross bar, in one or more of the pics there's a yellow object, that's the rod stand, if I member I'll post a picture of it, the light stands are about $20/$25 and can be raised in three height sections, I removed the lights and fitted 4 rod holders, the tripod legs extend and the whole this is very stable, I never lay my rods on the ground if I can help it..

Hi nkbertram, there were lots of yakkas under the light at the first T-intersection in the pier near the lower landing, I did some burley and caught about 6 or 8, I gave them to some guy's that weren't doing much good, noobies starting out in fishing ..

G'day Trev, I dunno mate, st leonards on the squid scene is over rated if your land based in my opinion, in a boat different story, just my opinion over a year and a half of constant trips...

Hmm, I do have a kayak but I'd probably need someone to go out with me because I have very little kayaking experience in saltwater...

Portarlington would probably be worth a shot though.
