Obtain a copy of The Landbased Fishing Guide to Port Phillip and Corio bays. It has a lot of advice.

If you want to catch snapper...by boat need to fish in the dark in corio bay(outer),landbase doubt there is snapper on piers or rocks very hard, other side(eastern side) by boat heaps of pinkies around black rock to ricket point hav to fight through undersizes to get very good sizes just seen a post yesterday from other forum caught bag limit 4 fish from 800grams to 1.3 kilos, the rest 500 grams
