Portarlington Report

Post by TrevKing » Wed Jan 04, 2012 9:08 pm

I know portarlington pier isn't the greatest spot on the bellarine peninsula, but since I was with the family I decided to give it a go. The action was slow, but I managed to foul hook a grass whiting and that was all for the day. Did have fun though enjoying the sun, having some fish and chips and watching a huge stingray glide around trying to eat people's bait

Happy fishing, Trev

Fished Portarlington today for Calamari, very little action so tried our luck near the mussel beds. Heaps of bay trout. Best baits were pipis followed by fresh calamari.

Good fun for the kids during the school holidays.

that pier is good calamari spot, seasonal of course. Salmon comes around within casting distance.
