Queenscliff 7 April

Post by Birdman » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:36 pm

Fished this morning at Queenscliff with mixed results. Working for two hours before high tide tried 5 or 6 spots across towards the rip, before hitting some nice whiting and flathead just near the jetty. Bait was pippies and squid getting most interest. Some birds working middle of rip but didn't get there in time to find out what the action was... Nice was to christen my new boat tho:) :dinner:
My hobbies are fishing and golf, I guess I just like frustration..

good work Birdie. Those in the middle of the rip could be baitfish being pushed up by salmon or rats.

Pipis seem to be the best bait for whiting.

Didn't get to chase the squid too much, fitting my fishing around taking our boys to see Thomas and adventure land, had to balance between wetting a line and keeping the cool happy, must have done ok, talking about the next trip already! Will keep an eye out for winter fishing reports...

The cook, I meant to say. Have been out on charters from here before, always a good day out! But it's pretty rare for fishing to be anything but good!
