After reading the report from Mr Andrews ke squid slayer and told a mate, we went there this morning.

Got there just before 6am, fished til 9am.
Crystal clear water
Low tide, peak was 10:30am
79% moon
Low north wind

Was like a Sunday market, a lot of people. Mostly fished the left side from the start of the pier all the way to the end. From w** poles with float, surf rods for people targeting snapper, kmart rods casting squid jigs, to fancy people with shiny outfit.

Me and my mate decided to do the total opposite from thr crowd and went to the right side.
First cast, couple lifts, and bang! Average sized squid on egiexile 2.5 red. While reeling in, its got a mate following. My mate put his red jig with blue flash and that second squid took it.

Around 7:30am, my mate caught another, and again, whilst reeling in, another squid following and attacking the squid he got on. This time, its followed by another three. We're pulling one and another. Then gone quiet.

Someone left their burley bucket and saw heaps of fish around it, mixed from tommy rough, baby salmon, mullet, whiting, trevally.
My mate put on unweighted squid tentacle and pulling in grass whiting.

Considering so many people there, not a lot caught. We got lucky being in the odd ones away from the crowd's "hot spot", caught 8 squid in total.

Then before we left, we saw this fish floating. Does anyone know what fish this is? Probably been attacked by something. Not very clear, but its dark red colour.

The floating fish I believe is a gobbleguts, most likely caught by someone and not released properly. Heaps of them around at night.

Nice work I am surprised when you caught one people didn't swap sides and flog the water white.

One or two did, but the rest were still on the left side.

Awesome work Sebb, some good sized squid and an even better day to be fishing!
They've been picky as of late, caught a few that Friday night but they made me work for them haha!

Strange with the fish too, I noticed that evening three expired porcupine fish floating on the surface amongst a heap of weed blowing in. Very strange!

Yeah, compared to how many people were there vs squid/fish caught, it was tough.
My mate and I got lucky.
