Lol I think I remember that thread

It's just a weird abbreviation that doesn't really roll off the tongue and is kinda of hard to comprehend when put in a sentence.

"Yeah, managed to get a few ting mate!"

Just weird and awkward to say

However substitute the word ting with with other known fish abbreviations like flatty or couta in that sentence and you won't look like a ******** in front other other puzzled fishos back at the ramp
