Post by stevce » Mon Oct 29, 2012 3:23 pm

well guys,

Went queenscliff pier behind the ferry at the end of the pier at 8pm, windy night but still fishable. use pilichard and squid, hr in had a bit to my suprise a bloody string ray, and from 9pm-12:30 i caught on philichard 7 sting rays, mate of mine caught a gummy shark close to 60cm.

Had a big hook up that was a fish this time and it tore my line and im telling you that was a big fish 15-20kg line getting torn so easy.

all up was a good night for sure going back there in a couple of days..... try avoid pilichards as the sting rays love them squid the way to go.....

Sounds like it might have been Harold Holt, spending that long in the water would do that too you :Syren:

ferry props?

If it was all pulling power of constant pressure, not burts or head shakes, probably another stingray.
