Portarlington sat

Post by Nude up » Sat Jun 03, 2017 8:08 pm

I don't normally fish the weekends crowded ramps etc but beggars couldn't be choosers this week.
After a late night last night seeing the mighty storm win then home to watch the recorded game and a few red wines I hit the water around 1000 I had my son with me so we headed over towards indented head and drifted for a few squid they were a strange mix some really small great bait size and some ok. The white jig did the most damage. By 12 I headed into portarlington so my son could get some chips and me a coffee while I was there I bumped into an old mate who had a bucket of small salmon happens this time of year there.
With this massive school hanging round when we left the harbour I dropped some lures in and got smashed straight away but they were small around 25 cm.
We headed over to the start of the channel tide and wind going the same way I put the drouge out and we drifted for flathead we must have caught a hundred but I only take ones over 30cm so we ended up only keeping a dozen we were off the water at 3pm

Not a bad trip for a feed , good work, :a_goodjob: cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
