Firstly, listen to the Geelong fishing show on the PUlse.

Secondly visit the tackle store in Geelong and Queenscliff.

Thirdly get a copy of the Landbased Guide to port phillip and Corio Bays. My copy says that squid, salmon, gars etc, basically anything caught in port phillip will be caught there.

Any fish that enters or leaves the bays swims through the heads, with Queenscliff on one side.

try queenscliff pier. that place gets cala ahead of other piers. Bring a bullet proof vest and a shotgun of your own so you can defend yourself from the #$^&* :bat: who think they own the pier!

I suggest you fish for some trevally , Salmon , go to the Queenscliff Boat harbour & fish near the ferry ramp . its deep water there & use some fresh squid + IQF pichards cut into cubes for bait & you may just get lucky . this time of year it can get busy with other fisho's , but also fish the main Queenscliff pier for the same species & the chance of a Calamari .
