Yeah, half the reason for the huge breakwall at Werribee is for a large passenger ferry to Melbourne. No idea if they plan to have the one ferry running from Portarlington to the CBD via Werribee or two separate ferries. Dunno if the Werribee ferry would be worthwhile because unless it goes like the clappers it would be just as fast to drive I reckon.

Either way, more places to fish from is a good thing for all of us.

I had thought about trying to get a place down that way for a number of years, but as they say if you snooze you loose.
Those property prices have really shot up. Good for those people who own down there.

From werribee to city non peak takes about 30to 40 mins.
In peak times can't take up to 2 hours.

This harbour thing has been mashed over for years and as for the Ferry thing well again a pipe dream in the works for many years. The supposed ferry from Port will go to Station Pier there was talk of fare prices being around the 50 dollar mark . There has also been talk of a ferry from Geelong waterfront to Werribee to aid in less traffic flow to Melbourne. Not many would use the Port ferry as I can't see people from Geelong using it and lets face it Port and adjoining areas aren't exactly full of Melbourne workers. As for house prices shooting up with a new ferry , already to high here for what you get. People in this area aren't really excited on progress they don't want to lose the village tranquility , it's bad enough in the tourist season and on nice weekends as it is.

It takes me 1.5 hours from portarlington to the airport on top of my 12.5 hour day it makes 15.5 I can't do it its ok one way.
I did have a house in portarlington and we are looking for another but its hard to find one that has a garage for a 6.5mt boat I will probably have to build
I can swap you my 3.2 m punt for your 6.5.

That should fit into any port arlington garage.

Off course you will have to throw some cash in to sweaten the deal :a_goodjob:

Caught plenty of small Salmon 25 - 30cm off the rock wall at Portarlington yesterday, children and I had a blast. Not sure if it is just me but personally, I found it pretty annoying to have people spearfishing on the artifical reef and also drifting across there with a boat, well within casting distance from the rocks where there were lots of people trying to fish, seemed pretty stupid and pissed me off.
