Friday arvo we headed of to new territory not fished before over near Portarlington. After meeting Fitzy90 on the forum he offered to show me round his back yard is search of some squid. I have met several good guys and girls on this forum keen to offer help when I have been looking for new areas to fish. We met Fitzy and the boys on the water sat morning east of the pier. Admittedly we were a couple of hours behind the boys who were already into them judging by the texts. We started fishing in about 3-5m depending on where we drifted. With local knowledge fitzy and the boys smashed it and went home mid morning bagged out and happy. After a couple of tips and the SPECIAL TECHNIQUE I to started getting amongst them also.
We fished the spot till around 1130 and landed 8 squid. After this we motored slowly around to St Leonnards Pier and fished out the front drifting in with the flood tide. Only picked up a couple of more before it was time to head back to Patto. We had an awesome trip home and it glassed out across the middle.
Thanks for all the help Fitzy and all the special tips for local area. We will definitely be coming back across to fish with you and the boys again soon.
PS looking forward to the whiting in Summer.

Great stuff...cant beat fishing with good blokes.......nude up and myself pulled some squid there last week...I cooked them that night...they were great to eat !!

Hey Bowl,
Lets just say I had nothing, I now know when you do a system update it puts the system into Slave mode. You loose a lot of functions. However since coming back and I have spoken to my tec guy and he showed me how to put it back into master mode giving me back all functions. New Gizmos going good now but need to learn how to get more fish on them hooks. Hoping to get out sunday and just spend some time on water round patto learning more.
