Quick report guys, fished the nards Sat night ( gotta nick name for it now LOL )
it was an out going tide when we got there, very little in the way of bites, no squid caught by the crowd egging all over the place
incoming tide was at 11 pm, final tally for the night was 16 banjo sharks of all sizes, 6 huge star fish, 18 tommy rough, two squid 25cm hoods caught on jags with fresh tommy rough !
very calm with mirror conditions, not what I like I prefer chop on the water, it was a pleasant night and heaps of falling stars supplied some entertainment
it can only get better as we head into spring. good luck to everyone trying their luck.

Mate your not wrong nude, that was between 3 of us, I did see one guy release a small swell shark also, the tommy rough were in plague proportions ! huge schools of them under the lights, perfect bait size but you need quite a few to make a meal of them, no snapper off the break wall yet but I feel it won't be too long before they show up !Nude up wrote:16 banjos they are in plague proportions if only they were flathead
surprising we didn't get any whiting ? we usually do well there.

Them swell sharks are a pain huge mouth you think from the weight its a good fish then you realise its a dead weight. I once tried to fillet one once never again after I dulled the edge of 3 knives hardly any meat which wasnt any good anyway. I have noticed more of them coming into the bay like banjos they always get put back their population is exploding

I'm a lazy squid fisherman, I use a float and squid jag, I always try to catch local bait, in this case there were heaps of tommy rough around so I impaled one of these resulting in two squid..smoken wrote:Thanks for your report. What baits and rig you using?hornet wrote:6 huge star fish
