Good days fishing, (st leonards)

Post by aussie_fisho » Fri Aug 15, 2014 6:04 pm

Launched at werribee boat ramp around 8am, and shot over to st leonards, we arrived at st leonards boat ramp and tried for some squid, the water was crystal clear and there quite a few boats out. Drifted from the green stick out from the ramp, where we had multiple squid come up to the jig and just watch it, they were very finicky, managed 4 in the first 2 hours and decided to move elsewhere, we moved further up towards Prince George, where we begged out in less than 1hour, the squid were everywhere, all different sizes, while drifting for squid we noticed a school of salmon surrounding them and our squid sesh turned into a salmon sesh, we collected our bag of salmon(roughly 800g) and decided to try for some whiting, unfortunately no luck with the whiting but still a great days fishing. The water was so clear and it was awsome to see the squid and salmon attacking lures from the boat. Cheers aussie

Also all squid were caught on natural brown coloured jigs.

Good haul, well done  cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
