I did all the house work the day before and let the Mrs sleep in, and I got to go fishing early morning yesterday.
Gotta keep the family happy. Family first.
So off I went to Geelong's wangim walk with a mate.
Drizzly rain, SW wind, cold. We were the first there and was expecting no one would be there.
One thing I learnt over the years of fishing in Melbourne, is to wear proper clothing. Makes the fishing much more enjoyable. Thermals, waterproof pants and ski jacket and we were ready.
Fished 6:30am-8:30am
15-20kmh SW wind
80% moon, rise 9pm, set 11am
Peak high tide 5:45am, lowest 12:30pm
Slightly increasing barometer 1014 to 1015

.
Both of us got zman slim swimz on 1/8 jighead and set couple bait rods. Put some burley and the fish were biting hard for about an hour.
The pinkies and the flatties mostly took raw chicken marinated in garlic overnight, 1/0 KL hook on paternoster rig. Caught one good size KGW too, around 35-40cm.
Slim swimz motor oil and midnight oil got us few flatties, biggest flatty on the plastic was 40cm.
Soon we ran out of burley and they stopped biting.
A lot of undersized pinkiea anf flatties, but managed some legal fish. We took home 6 pinkies (30-40cm size), couple flatties and the one kgw. Great little session despite the weather.

Otw back to the car, Geelong fishing charter just got back and said that they fished around the channel, only managed couple legal pinkies and few kgw. A lot of undersized pinkies they said.
