Landbased squid around Geelong

Post by 4liters » Tue Aug 21, 2018 7:33 pm

Anyone have any tips for getting squid landbased around Geelong? I've tried Griffins Gully (shallow and weedy) and St Helens (possibly not weedy/reefy enough) several times each for donuts. I thought I'd ask here before trying Cunningham Pier or Limeburners rock wall.

I know I can get them at Portarlington and St Leonards but spots closer to the inner harbour are much easier to get to for a session after work so if there's a spot here worth persisting with I'd love to know about it. Feel free to PM if you don't want it filled with flogs the day after you post it lol

Got a couple at Portarlington a couple of weeks ago; never got one in Geelong. having said that, never aggressively chased them there either...

PS: I did accidentally snag one on a paternoster rig off the Limeburners Point breakwall a long long time ago, I can still remember how the music used to make me smile...
