Good session on the school fish

Postby Born2fish » Sun Nov 05, 2017 3:00 pm

Yesterday morning seen steve purple5ive meet me at my joint. Mission squid then snapper launching the boat and heading to squid grounds in some what 17kts sw winds made squid fishing hard. We struggled but managed 4 so headed towards point wilson way sounded up snapper made it for the 3pm tide change. Baits in burley in and waited well that tide was a flop only 1 run missed so we sat it out for sunet 9pm tide change. With fish under boat still as sun went down we started seeing intrest in our baits. With some 36cm pinkies coming in. Around 5 pm rod buckles and runs stright across all the rods and up current. Looked at steve and said gummy gummy get net. After a small solid fight landing a over all lenth 60cm gummy partle lenth 50cm. With a smile on my face u said may be good then in a quick session 2 at 1.2kg and 1kg school fish came in. Out of no wear steves rod loads and he was in to a solid snapper 5min later it tangles other rod and cuts off. (Lots of swear words said lol) re baiting out goes rods booom steves rod loads again this time a by looks solid gummy. Steve settles in the fight then bang loose line pulls rod in hooks had pulled (swear words again) lol hes rod goes again another snapper this time and yep he lost it some how. We had fun fish landed and good fish lost. Steve landed also silver whiting
Point wilson on chanel
Depth 10m
Water temp 15.2

Thanks for a great time again phil, weather was certainly not on our side at all.

the bigger fish most certainly evaded us, and the ones that came to play i managed to loose somehow :o_0: with line tangles and getting busted off. also the gummy was a good fish and was only slowly starting to wake up when i could feel the hooks slowly pulling out and the inevitable happened..
i donutted on the squid, so phil was the only bait collector for the day, that was until i decided to throw out a soft vibe while killing some time and ended up reeling in 3 sand whiting on the lure along with about 7 or 8 flathead, the sand whiting certainly is a first for me on a lure and i was quite happy to have landed them on the vibe. We certainly couldnt get fresher bait than these so our they went staright away and got smashed but we missed the fish...
all in all a great but extremely Tiring 20hr day for me..
Ill need to rest up as i have the Twins Turning 3 on Cup day, so back to a busy schedule again... :victory:
