Post by Born2fish » Sun Oct 22, 2017 7:03 am

Meeting steve purple5ive at my house yesterday morning plan of attack was squidding then snapper. Packed the boat car and went down to launch to boat and went to squid grounds. Squid tuff going manage 6 squid and before we knew it i said its snapper time so we headed to point wilson away from the boats. Was ruff but snapper like that sounded some good reds so dropped the anchor and putting rods out burley down. Nek minit zzzzzzz steves rods buckles screams off and good fight lands at 68cm snapper pretty happy. 20 min later hes rod buckles again this time solid fight boom 78cm snapper. Steve was on a roll my rods were not getting buckles lol i didn't mind as i fish a bit anyway steve says mate if my rod goes again grab it i said na all good he said nope i want you to mate lets all get fish. (What a top bloke) anyway 10min later booom rods buckles runs off short solid fight landing a 76cm red happy days

Thanks phil for another cracker outing. Was certainly a bit lumpy out there.

All fish suprisingly came on the outfits i had out. I can certainly say the elcheapo combos have passed with flying colours. If anything a bit more backbone for the bigger fishes would be good. But i never felt undergunned on these fish at any stage... after the first 2 fish i told phil to grab my rod if it goes off again (only fair the skipper gets some fish too) sure enough 20mins later my rod goes off again and phil was right next to it.
Fairly certain all 3 came on the same rod. But since they all look the same i now dont know which rod is the kucky one hahaha..
Im wrecked now and need some sleep but im on babysitting duty now. Hopefully i dont fall asleep on the job.
