Been a long while since I have caught anything but small flathead and undersize pinkies there, haven't even managed a banjo for ages. When a school of salmon comes past you can catch them but they move on quickly.

Yesterday, I went down for a fish with the 7 year old at St Helens. Haven't been there for a few months but got on to a few small flatties....got one nice size keeper of 38cm. Got there at 7am in time for the high tide change and fished till about midday. Beutiful weather and great to spend some father and son time. Pretty quit session but at least we got a keeper. Few people and kids fishing due to school holidays.

I tried as well, the high tide is at around sunset and sunrise at the moment, but only undersize flatties, which is all I seem to catch there, I was just using frozen squid, there must be bigger flatties there, fresher bait might tempt them.
