Advice for beginner trying to land based fish geelong

Post by chrisb » Mon Apr 11, 2016 1:17 pm

Hello all

I recently moved to geelong and got hooked on fishing after a couple of trips on my mates boat.

I`ve taken up land based fishing, but im not having much luck.

My target fish is Pinkie, but will take anything.

Can any one give me any tips on where to go, what times, bait and distance to cast?

Thanks

Look it up on map called Saint Helens park,or rocks i'm not sure.Get sated blue bait from Mario baits up the road, and start fishing before dark.Your in the money. And if you are a good bloke i also know where to catch decent garfish land based ,bitting at the moment.

Point Lillias after dark from the rocks should get you some pinkies and whiting around this time of the year :)

Listen to the Geelong fishing show on the Pulse 94.7 Sat mornings.

Ask at your local tackle store and then whilst you are there buy a copy of the Landbased guide for port phillip and corio bays.
